N Plate Golf driver arrested for going over 160km on New Ross bypass

A motorist has been arrested for speeding way over the speed limit in Co Wexford.

Wexford Road Policing Unit detected a Volkswagen Golf travelling at a speed of 164km per hour in a 100km per hour zone on the New Ross bypass.

Gardaí stopped the Novice driver and they were arrested.

Proceedings are to follow.

Taking to Twitter, Gardaí said:

Wexford Road Policing Unit detected this car travelling at a speed of 164 kph in 100 kph zone on the New Ross bypass.

They were stopped and the driver was arrested and proceedings are to follow
