A man has been arrested following the assault of a Garda.
It happened at around 9.30 am in Williamstown, Waterford this morning.
It's understood that there was an alleged confrontation with Gardaí, and that pepper-spray was used.

The man, in his 20's, is currently detained under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Waterford Garda station.
The Garda member was treated at the scene for his injuries.
