It's that time of year again as people aim to begin a "new year - new me" routine.

With Christmas over and it being one of the most indulgent times of year, people across the world try to take up a new habit or skill - whether it be reading more, trying a new hobby or signing up to a new online course.

A new report conducted has shown one of the most popular new years goals is giving up alcohol.

One in four Irish adults plan on doing Dry January this year.

Research by Heineken shows more people plan to take part in the event this year, in particular those aged 25 to 34.

379,000 Irish adults who have never attempted Dry January are likely to do it.
