Over 18,000 people had their pandemic unemployment payment stopped by the Department

18,500 people have had their pandemic unemployment payments stopped after investigations by the Department of Social Protection.

Over 5,300 people have made repayments to the department after receiving money they weren't entitled to.

According to freedom of information figures, they've repaid over €4.3m since the PUP scheme was launched in March.
