Two counties in the South East can not avail of free STI home testing kits from the HSE.

The initiative, called SH24, only issues them to 24 of the 26 counties across the country.

Wexford and Waterford are excluded from the list, with no explanation made available on their website.

Meanwhile, University Hospital Waterford is not taking bookings due to staff shortages.

Sexual Health advocate and member of the LGBTQ community - Cuan Cusack - is calling out the lack of free testing for the two South East counties:

"The tests are posted out. It's not like it's more expensive to post a parcel to Waterford than it is to Limerick", they said.

"If you lived in Carrick-on-Suir and walked across the bridge you could get it posted there."
