Pride flags will be raised for a third time in Waterford City this afternoon.

Minister for Equality, Roderic O'Gorman, will be involved in the raising ceremony on the mall.

The flags in Waterford have been damaged on two separate occasions since they were first put up over 2 weeks ago.

Meanwhile, MEPs have condemned the vandalism on the rainbow flags in the Déise.

Speaking to Beat News from Brussels, Waterford Green Party MEP, Grace O'Sullivan, says the recent "homophobic acts" have to be counteracted:

"I am absolutely appalled at what I'm hearing coming from Waterford."

"The burning of the pride flags is just shocking, that act of vandalism and negativity."
