Prince Charles and Camilla visit Kilkenny City

Prince Charles and Camilla paid a visit to Kilkenny City today.

Security across the city remained tight as thousands descended on the Marble City to catch a glimpse of his royal higness.

John Hurly, the Chief Executive of Kilkenny Chamber of Commerce, said the visit has given the local economy a real boost:

"I think it will have a tremendously positive effect, the royal family has a huge following and they're watched everywhere they go. So by them coming to Kilkenny, it means the limelight will be shining on Kilkenny today and it gives us an opportunity to showcase all of the wonderful things Kilkenny has to offer".
