Renewed appeal launched by Gardaí for fatal hit-and-run in Co. Waterford

Gardai have renewed their appeal for information in relation to a fatal hit-and-run in Co. Waterford 40 years ago.

The body of Joseph 'Joey' Moroney was found on the roadside at Bohadoon near Dungarvan on August 8th, 1982.

The 23-year-old had spent the night socialising at a nearby pub and was struck by a vehicle as he walked home - the driver has never been identified.

Gardai say the incident remains the subject of an active investigation and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
