18 to 24 year olds are actively trying to drink less alcohol and are turning to Zero options this Christmas.

That's according to Musgrave Marketplace, which says sales of non-alcohol drinks have soared by over 140% on last year.

However, almost 57% of over 55s say they wouldn't choose a zero-percent drink.

Mocktails were the alcohol-free drink of choice for people in Donegal, Dublin, Meath, Tipperary, Galway, Kildare, Kilkenny and Wicklow.

Mayo and Longford people were torn between Mocktails and Alcohol-free cider.

Alcohol-free cider was preferred by people in Cavan, Lough, Roscommon and Waterford.

Zero percent beer was preferred by those in Carlow, Cork, Kerry, Laois, Leitrim, Limerick and Wexford.

But people in Monaghan, Offaly, Sligo and Westmeath instead went for No-Secco (alcohol-free prosecco.)
