RNLI tribute taking place today for the crew of Rescue 116 in Dunmore East

An RNLI tribute is taking place today for the crew of Rescue 116 in Waterford.

Dunmore East, Tramore, Fethard and Kilmore Quay lifeboats along with Dunmore East Coast Guard will set sail together off the Dunmore coast at 2pm to lay a wreath at sea.

Four flares will be set off and a minutes silence observed for each of the missing crew - while Rescue 117 flies overhead.

This Easter, marks the one-month anniversary of the tragic Coast Guard rescue crash, off the county Mayo coast.

The event at sea will be followed by a memorial service and refreshments.

All members of the public are invited to attend.
