Staff at a major pharmacy in Waterford City have been told that the store will close.
According to reports in the Waterford News & Star, 27 jobs will be lost at the Sam McCauley branch on Broad Street.
The store has been in operation at the site since 2001 and was scheduled to close on October 13th.
However, after negotiations with the landlord, a decision was made to close the doors permanently on 31st January 2019.
Speaking to the Waterford News & Star, CEO of Sam McCauley TonyMcEntee said that the decision was 'regretful'.
