Sinn Fein will table a motion of no confidence in the Government

Sinn Fein WILL table a motion of no confidence in the government.

The party confirmed the move after a decision was taken this morning, and will bring the motion before the Dail next week.

They've challenged Independents not to support the current government, which has lost it's technical majority after Donegal TD Joe McHugh's voted against the mica redress scheme.

Sinn Fein's Agriculture spokesperson Matt Carthy doesn't believe the motion's a waste of time:

"We have a responsibility, I would argue an obligation, to hold Government to account and to challenge a Government that is failing."
