The Principal of a South East primary school says their school yard is destroyed in broken glass and littered with drug paraphernalia on an almost daily basis.

Gangs of teenagers have been hanging out on the grounds of St Mary's Boys National School in Ferrybank outside of school hours and this week the school had to close off an area of the grounds as it was deemed unsafe.

Gerrard Duggan says they shouldn't have to be cleaning up the mess left behind.

"Our caretaker has had to spend up to half an hour most mornings of the week getting that playground to ensure the safety of our pupils.
