The South East shows solidarity with Orlando

A large crowd attended an event in Waterford City today to show solidarity with the victims of the Orlando massacre.

The event was held at New Street Gardens in the region's capital this afternoon and was organised on Facebook by Trina Tsai. Last Sunday, Omar Mateen shot and killed 49 people and injured over 50 others in the Pulse Gay Nightclub in Orlando.

Today's event saw the names and ages of the 49 victims read out to the assembled crowd before a poignant balloon release to remember the victims.
