STUDENTS NEED TO LOOK AFTER THEIR HEALTH COMING UP TO EXAMS

With under a week to go until the State exams start the Irish Pharmacy Union advises students to eat regular balanced meals and take regular breaks.

Students across the region may suffer from a variety of things including headaches and upset stomachs as exams approach.

Students are advised to avoid caffeine and drink plenty of water.

Pharmacist Paul Kenny from Kenny's Pharmacy Tramore, Co. Waterford says stress and nerves are perfectly normal and "the best course for treating it is relaxation - you need to be rested, well hydrated and well fed - it's as simple as that."

He went on to say "any stimulants are bad news ... and you want to get as much rest as you can, and take plenty of breaks from your study."
