Supports available for young people in the south east

We're being reminded of the supports available to young people in the South East who are experiencing mental health difficulties.

January can be a particularly difficult month for some people who have left home after the Christmas break, while others can experience financial difficulties.

Regional Suicide Resource Manager for the South East Sean McCarthy has this advice.

"For people who are in difficulty or people who are in distress, their first port of call should always be their GP", he says.

"A GP has access to a wide range of services that can be stood over and that we know have good governence and are managed and delivered in the right way. So they can refer the person to services or counselling if necessary".
