The taxi service which aims to help people who are showing signs of depression or suicidal thoughts are to expand once again.

TaxiWatch, which was founded by a group of Taxi drivers in Kilkenny have confirmed that taxi drivers in Clonmel will now receive training.

They will be trained on how to deal with people who are seen to be in distress while they're working.

Founder Derek Devoy explains how the drivers in Clonmel got on board:

'Dan Connelly worked with See-Saw (a crisis centre in Clonmel) and Dan's son took his life.

'He just wanted to do something and contacted me asking would I be interested in setting up with him'

'He saw Taxi Watch on the news and heard about us, so asked would I be interested in setting up in Clonmel and would I help him.'

'We'll do anything we can to get them going so hopefully, in the next week or two, they'll be getting trained'
