Teenage girl dies following GAA training session in Gorey

A community in Gorey is in shock today following the tragic death of a 14-year-old girl during a Gaelic Football training session yesterday.

Ciara Ryan died as a result of a suspected brain haemorrhage after training with Kilanerin GAA Club in the town yesterday.

It's believed she was going for a ball towards the end of the session, and collapsed saying she had a pain in her leg.

She was tended to by a paramedic who was nearby, and a local doctor arrived on the scene minutes later
