Thousands of children are returning to school after a change to contact tracing rules

Thousands of children across the South East are returning to school this morning, after a change to contact tracing rules.

The Chief Medical Officer says from today contact tracing of close contacts in primary schools and creches won't be needed.

Children aged 12 or under who are close contacts and are asymptomatic won't have to restrict their movements.

Sinn Fein's Education spokesperson, Donnchadh O'Laoghaire says:
