Three South East outdoor adventure projects to receive over half a million in funding

Over 15 million euro in funding is being allocated to develop 84 outdoor adventure projects, across the country.

The money will go towards developing adventure tourism activities, such as hiking, mountaineering, kayaking, swimming and cycling.

Three South East locations are included in the finding with 210 thousand 487 euro for an off-road walking/cycling pathway along the River Suir in Thurles, Tipperary while Kilkenny's Woodstock Estate will receive 189 thousand and 45 for upgrades.

Wexford also receives 200 thousand euro for the Enniscorthy Riverside Trail.

Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys, says the investment will help support rural economies and make rural Ireland a destination of choice for adventure tourism.
