Tributes are pouring in on social media following the sudden and tragic death of 10-year-old Rai-Lèyah Parveen Saddique.

The incident occurred at a school in Wakefield, Leeds last Wednesday afternoon.

The dance-loving student collapsed at school before being rushed to Pinderfields Hospital where she was transferred to Leeds General Infirmary on Monday morning.

It is understood that Rai-Lèyah passed away at the hospital from a suspected brain haemorrhage.

Tributes have since poured in for the "talented" and "beautiful girl" with her former dance studio taking to social media to express their condolences. They said: "Just weeks ago you took to the stage and blew us all away. Go show them how it's done up there darling. Rai-Leyah Saddique is forever in our hearts, forever Fearless.

"Fly high sweet girl. It's time for the angels to experience your kindness."

It is reported that several hundred people attended the little girl's funeral at Jamia Masjid Swafia mosque.

Friends and teachers from her school were among the mourners present, with her school closing for the day out of respect.

Almost one thousand comments have since been posted on Rai-Lèyah's community Facebook page, with one writing: "Please keep this angel and her family in your duas if you are reading this, this is a heartbreaking time for the family."

Another posted: "Heartbreaking and tragic news, she's only a little older than our daughter and I can't imagine the agony the parents must be feeling."
