Two thirds of people in the south east will re-gift their Christmas presents

Are you one of the people in the South East that's guilty of re-gifting?

Recycling firm Repak has released findings of a recent survey they carried out and it seems some people have a touch of scrooge in them!

It found that 2 thirds of people plan to re-gift this christmas with 17% avoiding taking wrapping paper off presents they've got in the past.

66% of us end up buying gifts for ourselves when out shopping for others.

meanwhile Over the Christmas period, we'll generate enough glass to produce over 89 million beer bottles

Some of the findings from the survey:

·         Wine is the present most likely to be re-gifted (45%) while a voucher is the most unlikely (45%)

·         Dad cited as the most difficult person to buy for (39%)

·         Over 93% of people think that retailers have an obligation to recycle properly

·         Just over 50% are unaware that retailers are legally obligated to recycle

·         Almost all (90%) are more likely to shop with a retailer that they know recycles properly

·         Repak predicts Ireland will generate a combined 74,000 tonnes of used packaging over the Christmas period with each household generating a whopping 44.6 kilos.
