'Very rare' parking space sells for €135,000

'Very rare' parking space sells for €135,000

And you thought the price of housing had gone through the roof?

It seems the humble parking space has also shot up in value as this "very rare" lot in a "highly convenient" location in Bath in the UK recently sold for an eye-watering £115,000 or €135,000 by Property agents Whiteley Helyar.

The secured space, which is described by its selling agent as "a good size" is the first to go up for sale at the car park in at least eight years.

While the price may seem too high to be believed, there are a couple of reasons behind this madness. A clean air zone is being introduced to the historic city centre later this year bringing with it higher parking charges, which is causing some motorists to panic buy parking spaces around the city.

The lot isn't the most expensive parking space of all time, however, that record goes to a space in Hong Kong that sold $1.3 million in June.
