Volunteers needed to help prevent suicide in the South East

Waterford Samaritans are now recruiting for new volunteers.

Their vision is that fewer people die by suicide.

Two information meetings are being held this week at their branch on Beau Street;

The first is on Thursday at 7pm followed by Saturday at 11am.

Communications Officer of Waterford & South East Samaritans Patricia White explained to Beat News "Samaritans offer emotional support to all our callers who are going through difficult times in their lives.

We can be contacted on our freephone 116123 - 24hours a day.

We can also be contacted by text or email or indeed face to face contact - at our branch between the hours of 9am and 9pm."
