Wait time for Booster Jab reduced from six months to three as 5,279 new cases reported

The wait time for a booster vaccine for those who've had Covid has been reduced from six months to three.

NIAC made the recommendation which has been accepted by the Government.

The HSE will now put the new advice into operation.

76,000 doses of Covid vaccine were administered yesterday.

The Health Minister Stephen Donnelly says the change has been prompted by Omicron.

Meanwhile, 5,279 new cases of the virus have been confirmed this evening.

443 patients are in hospitals with the virus, with 102 in ICU.
