Waterford author to launch nutrition book this evening

A Waterford author is launching his new book in the city this evening, following a personal transformation over the past few years.

Cian Foley researched how nature used to moderate carbohydrates for us through the natural seasons, but modern preservatives and access to food all year around changed our habits.

He says his book "Don't Eat for Winter" looks at how to eat as nature intended.

"I was around four or five stone overweight. I was ignorant of food; I didn't have a clue of what was healthy and what wasn't."

"Over the course of the years that I was training, I got into kettlebells and I started to look into the scientific approach to feeding the body."

"Looking at how many carbs you need for training because the body has different energy systems."
