A 23-year-old Waterford man has been convicted of rape at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin.
Peter Halligan from 99 Kilcohan Park was found guilty by a jury of attacking a 16-year-old girl in July 2014.
The teenager was dragged into a walkway off the Tramore Road in the city, by Halligan who was unknown to her, where she was raped and sexually assaulted.
Peter Halligan was remanded in custody until his sentencing next month (March 6th).
