The Wexford Local Economic and Community Plan launch took place in Coláiste Abbain, Adamstown.

The importance of using cutting edge technology to train the workforce of tomorrow was a key feature.

Michael Sheehan is the Chairman of the Economic Strategic Policy Committee with Wexford CoCo - he spoke to Beat News at the event:

"It's a plan that we've been working on for the bones of 2.5 years, that all of the LEADER funding and all of the additional funding coming from Government will go to the County Council will then go into this plan.

If you've project or objective that's in this plan - we can fund it.

A lot of groups out there will look at this plan - including education groups, youth groups and skateboard groups etc. - when money becomes available they can apply through the local community development group under this plan."

"Stephen was showing us a bit about the robotic arm, that he created himself - he 3D printed it.

He was telling us how the electronics work - it plays rock, paper, scissors and all that.

We moved along and saw some of the other creations they had made. It was really interesting stuff.

We moved up to the 3D printers themselves - we got to see how they work and how they print."
