A new educational association has been launched today, with Waterford Institute of Technology as a founding member.
The "Technological Higher Education Association" will help the fourteen member institutes share and support each other on common agendas.
Professor Willie Donnelly is the President of WIT.
He explains the advantages of the group.
"This new organisation really brings a focus to the technological sector in Ireland."
"It will be the vehicle by which the development of the sector will continue over the next number of years."
"Of course central to that development will be the new technological university."
