Aviva Stadium at 75% capacity for Leinster Rugby opener

The Aviva Stadium will be at 75% capacity for Leinster Rugby's first-ever United Rugby Championship game, the province have confirmed today.

Reigning back-to-back Currie Cup Champions The Vodacom Bulls will be the first South African club team to play in Aviva Stadium under the new United Rugby Championship format with the game kicking off at 5.15pm on Saturday, 25 September.

All adult supporters going to the game must be vaccinated or immune, in line with the government guidelines.

Kevin Quinn, Head of Commercial and Marketing in Leinster Rugby, said, "This is huge progress for the club and we very much look forward to welcoming supporters back to Aviva Stadium on Saturday week for the first URC game of the new season.

"It’s been a long time coming but we have worked tirelessly with the various government departments and agencies, Aviva Stadium, the IRFU and all our stakeholders and partners to ensure that we kept building towards a day like today and this announcement."

No announcement has yet been made on Munster's home game to the Sharks on the same evening.
