Craig Breen to miss Rally Mexico

Citroen Racing’s Craig Breen will sit out this weekend’s Rally Mexico, it has been confirmed.

The Waterford native who is currently in fifth place in the World Rally Championship drivers’ standings confirmed that the team had taken the decision prior to the start of the 2017 season that he would sit out Rally Mexico, round three of the 2017 World Rally Championship.

As a result of Breen’s absence, Citroen Racing have confirmed that they will run just two drivers in Rally Mexico, with team leader Kris Meeke and Stephane Lefebvre driving the new 2017 C3 WRC.

The news means that Breen who finished in fifth place overall last time out in Sweden will miss the opening gravel rally of the 2017 season.

The Waterford native will be back in the car for the Che Guevara Energy Drink Tour De Corse when Citroen will have three full-time C3 WRC’s competing.

The Che Guevara Energy Drink Tour De Corse, round four of the 2017 World Rally Championship takes place from April 6-9.
