The race at Albert Park has been a fan-favourite since the inaugural event in 1996.

The current deal was set to expire in 2025 and speculation stated that there were several rival bids.

It's understood that strong interest had come from Sydney.

This season’s spectacle was won by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and attracted 419,000 spectators.
