Kilkenny Carlow Education and Training Board will run a free twelve week training programme – Foundation Programme in Adventure Tourism at Castlecomer Discovery Park
This foundation course is funded by Kilkenny and Carlow Education and Training Board and has been developed in partnership with Castlecomer Discovery Park.
This course will be delivered in Castlecomer Discovery Park.
Transport can be arranged if required.
On completion of this programme learners will have developed personal qualities and strengths that will support them to make informed choices in respect of employment opportunities and/or further education or training within the hospitality and tourism sectors.
The Programme will deliver the following activities through a series of structured modules;
- QQI Level 4 Tourism Visitor Care 4N0628
- Manual Handling
- Basic CPR
- Raft Building
- Orienteering
- Forest therapy
- High Ropes Instructor Training
- Bush craft, fire craft and shelter building
- Archery
- Nature studies and biodiversity
- Team building
- Canoeing
- Ecology and local heritage
- Bike skills
- ICT skills
- Leave no Trace
