Met Éireann is predicting it will be "warm in most areas with a mix of cloud and sunshine" over the weekend.

They say "showers are still possible" but temperatures look set to reach 26 degrees with only light winds.

Carlow is set to bask in the region's warmest weather, with the mercury predicted to hit a balmy 27 degrees Celsius.

The forecast will come as some relief to festival-goers following the recent unsettled spell, with the likes of All Together Now and Spraoi taking place over the Bank Holiday weekend.
