Man in serious condition after being rescued from the sea in Tramore
A man is in a serious condition in University Hospital Waterford after being rescued from the sea in Tramore this afternoon.
The man was in his dinghy a few hundred metres from the pier in Tramore when a wave bounced him out of his boat.
The Tramore lifeboat was dispatched but a fishing boat had spotted the man and brought him to shore, where the lifeboat crew administered first aid.
However, concerns over his responsiveness led to them calling Rescue 117 who evacuate him to UHW, where his condition is being described as serious but stable.
