Two arrested after Garda pursuit in Dublin

Gardaí have arrested two males, one aged late 20’s and one aged mid 30’s, following reports of shots being fired at a house in Heathfield Drive, Finglas at about 3.10am the morning.

Gardaí from Blanchardstown with the assistance of the Armed Support Unit responded to the call and discovered damage to the house caused by gunshots.

It was established that no person was present at the premises during the time of the incident.

A car was observed leaving the scene at speed, which was located a short time later by Gardaí and a contained pursuit operation was undertaken.

As a result of this operation the vehicle in question collided with an official Garda vehicle on the N4 near Palmerstown.

Following the incident the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) has been and is examining the case.

The two occupants of the vehicle were arrested at the scene before being taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

A technical examination of the house and the vehicle has been carried out and investigations are ongoing.
