Waterford teen arrested for 'coughing' at gardaí

A teen has been arrested by gardaí in Dungarvan following an investigation into a person who is alleged to have coughed at members of the force.

The boy was arrested on Monday after he coughed on members of the gardaí who were trying to break up a gathering of youths.

The news follows an article run by Beat yesterday which detailed a new TikTok trend dubbed the 'Coronavirus Challenge' whereby individuals cough and spit at people or lick objects.

"Any member of the public should report such activity to An Garda Síochána and not on social media", gardaí said.
