Curracloe and the Raven carparks closed

Curracloe and the Raven carparks closed

People in Co.Wexford are being asked to hold off your visit to the beach today.

That's the message from Wexford County Council, after huge crowds visited popular beaches in the county yesterday.

In statement issued to Beat News today (August 9th), David Minogue Head of Communications at Wexford County Council said:

"Due to very large crowds the carpark at Curracloe and the Raven are closed to additional visitors however the beach does remain open.

"Visitors are requested to park at a further distance away and to walk to the beach."

Both Curracloe and Duncannon beaches' car-parks had to be closed yesterday (August 8th), due to the high numbers attending the South East beaches.

With the weather improving crowds flocked to the county's two most popular beaches to soak in the sun, making it difficult to manage the crowds and maintain social distancing guidelines.

Wexford County Council are encouraging people to consider visiting the county's other beaches along their 250 kilometre coastline.
