Former Wexford hurler has drink-driving appeal adjourned

A former Wexford hurler who is appealing a drink-driving offence has seen his case adjourned.

27-year-old Jack Guiney, who is now a resident of the United States, had one appeal before Wexford Circuit Criminal Court in relation to a three-year driving disqualification following a conviction of drink-driving.

The Rathnure-native was initially convicted of drink-driving at Parnell Street in Wexford town before being handed down a fine of €800 and a three-year driving ban. The judge had also imposed a two-year disqualification for dangerous driving to run concurrently, and a further €200 fine for threatening/abusive behaviour at Commercial Quay, Wexford town.

The court heard that Jack Guiney was unable to attend as he now lives in the US.
