Gardaí charge man with vandalism of Luke Kelly statue

A man in his 40s has been charged over the criminal damage to the Luke Kelly statue in Dublin.

The statue of the singer in South King Street has been vandalised several times since it was unveiled in January, 2019.

President Michael D Higgins unveiled the statue of the musician on the 35th anniversary of his death.

The man is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice on Wednesday.
