Kilkenny school principal urges leaving cert students to register for both calculated grades and the written exams

By Dean Egan.

A school principal in Kilkenny is urging 6th year students to register for both calculated grades and the written exam.

Leaving Certs have until tomorrow (16th March) to decide whether they want to sit the exams or received predicted grades, or both.

All students must register, enter their subjects, and confirm how they wish to be assessed before 6pm tomorrow evening.

6th year students returned to the classrooms on March 1st, and are being joined today by 5th years.

Speaking to Beat News, Kilkenny Principal Shane Halahan, says students should register for both options:

"The first bit of advice I would give them is stop listening to rumours and stories from last year, because you are always going to hear the worst scenario."

"Sit down with your parents, or guardians, and have a chat with them."

"Without a shadow of a doubt, every single leaving cert student should register for both predictive grading and the written exams."
