Education Minister officially opens Waterford school

Minister for Education and Skills, Richard Bruton, will officially open new school in Tramore today

Gaelscoil Philib Barún contains state of the art facilities including 8 top of the line classrooms.

Principal of the school, Daithi de Paor explains what's going to be happening:

"Yeah, it's a great day for the school community and Tramore in general.

We have finally got our new building up and running this year.

We have the Minister for Education coming today to unveil a plaque and cut a ribbon

It's a great day.

Especially after waiting so long for a permanent building.

We were set up in 1985 and it's now 2017 all of 32 years later.

The Minister for Education is coming and saying well done and we have a new building.

Now the Minister of Education paid for the building, it owned by the Department of Education.

It's a lovely site overlooking Tramore but we're delighted."
