Protest over rape trials takes place in Waterford

Protesters in Waterford have called for an overhaul of how rape trials are conducted this afternoon.

It follows similar protests during the week over a case where a defence barrister commented on the type of underwear a 17 year old complainant was wearing on the night of an alleged rape.

It's led to claims that "victim blaming" still plays a part in many rape trials.

One of the events's organisers at John Robert's Square Aisling Fell explains why people have taken to the streets:
