Waterford in shock as newly-elected Deputy Mayor, James Tobin, dies suddenly

The Deputy Mayor of Waterford City and County Council has died.

James Tobin passed away suddenly over the weekend.

The Fianna Fáil councillor was only elected to the role last Thursday. Speaking to a local radio station, Mayor John O'Leary says it's devastating:

His own wife only died in the last year and a half and James was really just starting to come around from that and I know he'd be glad to meet Anne as his resting place.
