Fanning is Confirmed as Déise Hurling Manager.

Paraic Fanning was ratified as Waterford's new senior hurling manager last night.

County board delegates gave their seal of approval to Fanning, who was executive's nomination at the end of a prolonged process to find a successor to Derek McGrath, who stepped down in the aftermath of Waterford's failure to qualify for this year's All-Ireland series.

It will be the Mount Sion clubman's second stint with Waterford, having served on Davy Fitzgerald's management team from 2008-11, before moving to Wexford with the latter where he has coached for the past two seasons.

Former county star James Murray is understood to be part of his management team, but county legend Tony Browne, who was originally of his ticket, was unable to commit.
