Vogue dubs Irish actress Aisling Franciosi as a 'breakout star'

Irish-Italian actress Aisling Franciosi has been dubbed by Vogue as the Breakout Star of this summer's independent film, 'The Nightingale'.

Franciosi plays 21-year-old Irish convict Clare sent to Tasmania in the 1820s. The film is directed by Babadook's Jennifer Kent.

The 28-year-old's performance in The Fall alongside Jamie Dornan earned her an IFTA for Best Actress in a Supporting Role back in 2015.

The Dublin-born actress also played Lyanna Stark in Game of Thrones, and starred in a number of theatre productions including Little Women at The Gate Theatre.
