South East entrepreneurs urged to meet final funding deadline

The closing date for the New Frontiers programme is noon today, Wednesday 31st of August.

It's Ireland's national entrepreneur development programme - delivered by Institutes of Technologies and funded by Enterprise Ireland.

€1.5m has been secured for 55 early-stage entrepreneurs over the next five years at Waterford Institute of Technology.

Director of Programmes at the School of Business WIT - Eugene Crehan tells Beat News it's, "designed really to help start-ups through the early phase of the start-up journey.

It consists of three-phases."

One of the former New Frontiers participants Grainne Walsh, Metalman Brewing, Waterford City:

"While I had many years of experience working at home and abroad for a number of multi-nationals, I don't think I fully appreciated what would be ahead of me when trying to set up my own business.

To coin an old phrase – I didn't know what I didn't know. Joining a programme like New Frontiers forced me to stop and consider the different aspects of running a business, not least the pieces that a passionate producer overlooks in their enthusiasm to make a great product - like how to get that awesome product that you have pumped so much energy and commitment into producing in front of the people who will buy it."
