A parish in Co Laois is in mourning after the death of a priest in what's being described as a "freak accident" involving a car.
Fr. John Cummins - who previously worked in Carlow Cathedral and IT Carlow - was fatally injured in the incident outside the parochial house in Abbeyleix yesterday afternoon.
Gardaí say an investigation into the sudden death is underway.
