Gardaí appeal for information on 2008 murder of Andrew Burns

Gardaí are renewing an appeal for information on the murder of a man in Co Donegal 11 years after his death.

Andrew Burns, who was 27, was killed at Donnyloop, Castlefin, Co. Donegal by persons linked to violent Dissident Republican activity in February 12, 2008.

Andrew was shot between 7.05pm and 7.15pm and he was found on a roadway close to Donnyloop Church.

He was pronounced dead at 7.58pm.

One person has been convicted of this murder and a number of persons have been arrested in connection with the investigation.

Gardaí believe that a number of people were involved in the murder.

Gardaí urge anyone with any information to come forward as the investigation is still open. They added:
