John Paul Phelan says wait for MRI scanner in Kilkenny is 'frustraing'

Tender documents for the construction of a new building to house an MRI scanner at St Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny will be issued in the first quarter of next year.

Health Minister Simon Harris visited the hospital last July and confirmed that an additional 1.25 million euro has been made available to make it a reality.

It comes after the Friends of St Luke's group reached their fundraising target of 250 thousand euro in 2016 - but the wait has been ongoing since.

Junior Minister and Carlow/Kilkenny Fine Gael TD John Paul Phelan has told Beat news that the wait is "frustrating"
